As a small business owner, we work tirelessly to build and grow our business. We plan, strategize, market, and manage – all the while knowing that in the final analysis, we are utterly dependent on forces outside ourselves. We know we cannot control every outcome, nor can we produce the perfect market conditions or guaranty every opportunity for growth and success. For a successful business, we are dependent on blessings from God. Yet we also understand that unless we diligently pursue our responsibilities to plan, market, manage, and innovate, we cannot expect our business to thrive. In a sense, we are in a partnership with God, and we will reap the benefits only when we have fulfilled our own responsibilities. Running a Christian business is a joint venture between God and us. We cannot do what God can do, and God will not do what we should do.
